It’s probably not the very first memory. But at least the first one that comes into my mind: I was in kindergarden. I was chewing a gum when my teacher Mrs Schädlich told me to shut my mouth. I answered her earnestly and as if that was a very serious business that it should be impossible to chew with mouth shut. She just replied “Well, try it.” And I tried. And I found out quite impressed that it was possible…

Obviously so impressed that I remember this until this very day.
